Where Am I – Part Four (The Finale)

“Now, my brother, you thought you would be clever and try to stump me, and of course, I find this very amusing. So, you want to know why it is that, if I’m telling you that this astral plane is a realm of timelessness, why do I say things to you such as, “I’ll see you later” and “you will have to go through a period of adjustment,” when this surely implies the existence of time. A period, for example, must have a beginning and an end; in other words, it is a period of time. The simple answer is that while you are adjusting to the higher vibration here, you are still, to an extent, thinking with human logic. So, I am communicating with you in a way that you can understand. In truth, the only language is the universal language of love, the language of the heart, the language of silence; whichever you want to call it. When your adjustment is complete, you and I will communicate simply via “pure knowing” and words will not be necessary anymore”.

“Next, is there an afterlife? I think you know the answer to that one by now. Yes, there is, unless there isn’t. You are experiencing the afterlife for yourself, although you are also experiencing that there is only life. As death doesn’t exist, then there is no such thing as an afterlife, but applying our old friend “context,” and depending on your understanding, both answers are correct.

“You also want to know what we do for sustenance here. What fuels us, what do we eat?”

“Yes, I’ve been here for 20 years and you haven’t even offered me tea and biscuits.”

“Ha, my friend, very droll and very clever! In truth we get our sustenance from the atmosphere; as we breathe, so we are fueling. In fact, we have a banquet every time we take a breath.

“Now, however, is the time where we have to think about the next stage of your evolution. Very soon, you will experience the equivalent of an astral death. Your astral body will dissolve into the atmosphere here and you will merge once again with the Source that gave birth to both of us. Astral death is a very pleasant process during which you will simply feel as though you are in motion. When you merge with the “One” you will experience yourself as exactly that. You will also maintain the awareness of your individuality. See, “God” can do anything and everything my brother. You will stay merged with the Source until such time as you get the urge for another adventure. When you make the decision to take your evolution to the next stage, you will simply reverse the process. You will emerge once again from the Source and take birth here within an astral body. You will find me waiting right here for you; I won’t be going anywhere. Between us we will then decide on a plan for your next adventure. You may want another sojourn onto the earth plane or you may want a completely different experience somewhere else. This will all be decided when you are ready and not before.”

I don’t know how long I continued to stay in my “new” location; as my friend said, it was a realm of timelessness. All I know is that I continued with my routine of thinking myself outside, immediately on waking, until what transpired to be the last occasion. I thought myself outside as usual, only this time I felt very different. My friend was there as ever, with a massive grin on his face. As I faced him, he started to give off the most amazing golden light; he was glowing golden!

As if out of nowhere, there came an abundance of animals of all shapes and sizes, some familiar, some not. They nestled at the feet of my eternal brother. Also, as I noticed that the sky had turned an incredible turquoise colour, wonderous looking birds birds flew down and perched on him, and when there was no more room on his person they started to perch on the animals.

“Can you feel the joy my brother?” Exclaimed my friend. “They have come to see you off; they are so happy for you, as am I.” As he spoke, he glowed brighter and brighter. The most wonderful golden light emitted from him, so bright, but not offensive to the eye. I felt myself moving, it was such a pleasant feeling, and my friend seemed to be getting distant. The animals jumped with joy and the birds flapped their wings in apparent ecstasy, and my friend was glowing brighter and brighter until he seemed to merge with the atmosphere and disappeared in a huge ball of golden light. I continued to move at breakneck speed until the realm of timelessness, my brother, the animals and the birds became just a memory.

As a sense of the most incredible and indescribable wholeness descended, I knew I would see them again.

Where Am I

I woke up feeling rather different but I just couldn’t put my finger on the reason why. “Oh well” I thought, “not to worry” and I set about performing my first task of the day; the same task I’d performed as my “first task of the day” for as long as I could remember. That task was to swing my legs around and out of bed and place my feet into the pair of ever faithful house shoes that waited patiently at the side of my bed for me every morning. I hated slippers and refused to wear them, “only old people wear slippers.” To my amazement, the shoes were not there. I sat there on the edge of the bed feeling slightly baffled, but at the same time surprisingly contented and relaxed. I looked up, and at the end of the bed there was a familiar face smiling at me. “Now, where do I know you from,” I thought, not even thinking for one minute how odd it was for me to wake up and find someone in my bedroom; someone who was vaguely familiar but who, nonetheless, had no place there.

“Best get on with the day,” and I rose up feeling unusually light and with an incredible sense of freedom. All the while, my uninvited visitor is still smiling at me. I suddenly thought to myself, “where am I?” As I got up, I realised that I didn’t recognise any of the decor in the room. I didn’t know where I was, but I certainly wasn’t at home. I also realised, somewhat surprisingly, that I wasn’t troubled by any of this, in fact, I felt incredibly happy. I thought I would ask the character with the familiar face where I am and how I got here.

As if he’d read my mind and before I could get my words out, he said, “all is well dear soul, you are going home, but you will have to stay here for a while in order to undergo a period of adjustment.” I realised also at this point, that I had heard those words loud and clear in my head, but my companion’s lips had not moved. “Oh…and you were right, I did read your mind…well, sort of. We communicate telepathically here, so I heard your thoughts and replied accordingly.”

“What do you mean, HERE,” I said. “Where am I and what do you mean by a period of adjustment?”

“Well, my friend, where you have just come from people would say that you have died. But actually, as you are now experiencing, there is no such thing as death. You have simply left your physical body behind in the world of matter. You need a period of adjustment because you have to get used to functioning once again in what some souls in the physical world would call the etheric, or astral body. Everything here is much lighter and the rate of vibration is much faster; what you would have described as the speed at which atoms move around. It’s the same laws of physics here, the only difference is that everything happens much faster. The greatest example of this is that our thoughts manifest instantaneously.”

“Wow, this has all knocked me for six, it’s so much to take in.”

“That’s understandable my dear friend, but don’t worry, I’m here to help you with the adjustment process, and just to satisfy your curiosity, the reason I look familiar to you is because I am. You and I have known each other forever; indeed, I have never left your side, but you have had a sojourn on the earth plane and it will take a little while for you to readjust to the vibration here.”

“But I don’t even know your name.”

“We don’t bother with names here as we have no need for them. We just automatically know everything that we need to know. There is no time here either, but I’ll go into all of that in due course.”

My companion’s warm and kind persona made me feel very much at ease, and I realised too that he was right; I’d been talking to him, but my mouth had not moved; our communication had taken place purely by thought. “Get some rest now,” he said, “and I’ll be back to see you shortly.”

The Homecoming – A (Very) Short Story

“How is he doing?”

“His breathing has become very shallow but he seems comfortable, oh wait… I think he’s gone.”

“I don’t know what’s happening to me. I thought I could hear distant voices, then the light; so bright yet so comforting… and the tunnel. But I feel so peaceful.”

“I don’t know what’s happened to my bed, it just seems to have disappeared, and I don’t recognise any of these characters, they just seem to be going about their work quietly and efficiently.”

“Welcome home friend, we’ve been expecting you!”

There Is Only Life

Nothing else exists but life…

Life After Life

SUNRISE - MAHA SHIVARATRI 2013 We can never understand life unless we understand death, and we will never understand death until we see it for what it really is. Death is an illusion; only existing within the mind. Like all illusions it will only hang around for as long as we give it credence. The dissolving away of the illusion of death will represent, not a door closing, but a door opening; revealing a previously forgotten truth. The truth that there is indeed no such thing as the afterlife; there is only life itself. Life in all its glory; experienced in one single and equally glorious eternal moment.
