When Love Speaks

She’s nearly ready. Just going through the review process now.

Your Healing Balm

Howling wind and lashing rain

Nature’s way of saying, “time to refrain”

From rushing around and getting stressed

Just stay at home and have a rest

Take a moment to reflect on who you are

You’re a light eternal; a shining star

A friend indeed, a toucher of hearts

This is your purpose in our universe, so vast.

Just sit in the peace

You shelter from the storm

Embrace the calm

Feel the love

Your healing balm

As Peace Descends

As I lay here and gently drift away

I don’t have any more to say

I’m off to the realm of telepathy

Where everything is beautiful, and

Souls fly free

There are no regrets as peace descends

I face a new beginning

Not the end

Yes, there was pain

Yes, there was suffering

There was also bitter disappointment along the way

As I fought and stumbled through each day

But, I also loved until my heart was fit to burst

I beheld the reflection of the summer sun

Dancing across lakes and rivers

I witnessed the changing colours of the trees

As Mother Nature weaved her autumn magic

I felt the crisp cold of a winter’s morn

I’ve gazed into the eyes of an infant, and

Been confronted by the wisdom of the ages

I’ve been caressed by a gentle breeze as I looked out to sea

And watched in awe as the sun set on the horizon

Now as my sun goes down on the horizon of life

My body will decay and be consumed by Mother Earth

But my spirit will fly, and

Bask in the glory of Universal Love

Until such time as my heart once again hears the call

Then shall I return anew

And like the flowers of spring

I will bloom again

Love

I have no needs or requirements

I exist as I am

I am neither creature

Woman nor man

I don’t know sickness

I don’t know pain

I’m blind to loss, and

Oblivious to gain

I don’t need sustenance

I’m forever full

I remain unaffected

by gravity’s pull

I’m always in motion, yet

at the same time still

Have you guessed who I am yet, or

Do you remain without a clue

I am everywhere

Even in the sound of a bell

My name is Love

I occupy every cell

Do not try to find me

Your search will be in vain

Just surrender

Just surrender

Let me ease your pain

Why Are We Blind To Our Own Qualities And Achievements?

I’m acquainted with someone, who in my eyes is a very successful author. Of course, success is only relative, but this writer has reached out to millions of people throughout the world and changed their lives for the better. He shared a story of how he felt (not in an egoistic way) that if he had made such great strides in his spiritual evolution, why was he still getting all the same old negative traits coming to the surface? For example, allowing seemingly trivial things to annoy him and getting angry over what seemed like nothing. He felt that, given where he is today, compared to the pits from whence he had dragged himself up from, and considering his work, why was he not now the equivalent of a Buddha or a Lau Tzu?

He said that he was relating this story to a friend of his as he had allowed the situation to drag him down. As stated, he didn’t think like this because of his ego, it was because he’d had a particularly difficult time throughout large slices of his life and couldn’t understand why he was still struggling given how far he’d come. His friend, a very wise lady, reminded him that if he was off around the world being a Buddha or Lao Tzu, he wouldn’t have been doing his current work and touching the hearts of millions. We all have our own unique purpose for being here on earth and we also tend to have that rather annoying habit of comparing ourselves to others and feeling inadequate; even the best of us.

It just goes to show, that quite often it’s the people around us who see our qualities and achievements. We seem to be blind to the wonderful, positive things that make up our character and it’s left to others to remind us.

I’m Back

Well, I don’t think I’ve ever had such a long gap in between blog posts before. It’s been over four months since I last posted back in August. I wouldn’t say that my barren spell has been down to writer’s block. Far from it, I just seem to be going through a strange transition period; there have been changes in my life and blog posts have never been further from my mind. However…I haven’t been completely idle. After many months of procrastination, I have republished my last two books as second editions. A few years back, I removed all of my books from sale because I didn’t feel that they represented who I am anymore, not fully anyway. But, Paradise For The Ungodly is now published again, and available only directly from me, and I am waiting for the proof copy of Eyesight To The Blind to arrive. Once I’m satisfied that all is in order, I shall click on the button and it will be available to purchase on most major book sales platforms, including internationally.

I have tinkered with both books, removing bits here, adding bits there and also rewriting passages that don’t seem quite right five years down the road. To tease your taste buds, I have posted the covers below. They are only in the form of photographs, taken online, at the moment. But, I will be updating with better quality pics in due course. See you soon.
