As Slumber Beckons

When the elements that comprise my body have dispersed

And I merge once again into the realm of timelessness

The world will not cease to turn

The tide will continue to ebb and flow

The flowers, in all their resplendent glory

Will still dance in the breeze

Our gracious mother sun will continue to bless us

With her light and warmth

The birds will still welcome each new morning

With a symphonic overture

And when light turns to darkness

As slumber beckons

And you lay down your weary head

I will whisper to you

“All is well”

  1. Dear Richard. You are a soul in transit now witnessing the illusory world plays out its scripted drama day by day. Advantage you do not get sucked into it
