Will you flit with me across the sky, and
Keep me close as clouds roll by
Will you touch my heart with moonlight, and
Melt my soul with a nectarine sigh
Will you dance with me in the ether
Will you caress me with your breath
Will you sing me a song of the sweetest Love, and
Hold my hand at death

Dear Richard in my opinion there is no death for Soul, it exits the existing body in search of new body, how long will that take is only known to the Supreme Soul. Waiting for cue for entry in a new role on illusionary world called stage..

Yes, very true brother. The poem represents the individual soul’s relationship with the Divine and is a yearning for the Divine to “be there” when I leave this body.

The Divine is always with you, you are the Divine Soul and not the body you resided in so long. You have to establish contact within with that Divine Self and see the same Divinity in evryone and everything you perceive.

Yes, also true. The central character of the poem has allowed an element of doubt to creep in because of the ego and is asking for reassurance. Thanks as ever for taking the time to comment Nori
