For the launch of my latest book, Fragments Of Divinity, on June 12, I appeared as a guest on the blog of my friend and psychic novelist, Linn B Halton.  Below is a copy of the article.

It’s amazing how meeting someone can radically change your life, the way you look at things and the way you look at your future. Today I’m introducing one such person who has indeed had a radical impact upon my life. When I first met Richard Holmes I had been looking for him for a while … yes I know that sounds strange, but I had seen him at an evening of Clairvoyance a couple of years prior and been unable to get hold of his contact details. It’s a long story, but to cut it short it was no coincidence when eventually I was ‘pointed’ in the right direction and there in front of me was a flyer advertising Richard’s next platform. I booked a one-to-one session with Richard and it was amazing, but more was to come. He introduced me to the Vedic Gayatri Mantra and I attended two sessions he held in Nailsworth, Glos in the UK. He also introduced me to meditation and I now use his CD’s to aid my thought processes. I have read everything Richard has written and it has answered so many of my questions about life after death, angels and spirituality. So it’s my great pleasure to introduce and welcome Richard.

I’d love you to tell my visitors about your latest book, another insightful read and great addition to your list of publications. I must admit that I originally sought out your books because I had questions that remained unanswered and what I’ve read has certainly opened my eyes to so many things. But first I wondered if you would mind penning one of your wonderful ‘thoughts for the day’ – something that will inspire everyone and make them stop what they are doing to think about something in a little more detail for just a moment.’

“Thanks for having me as a guest on your blog Linn, and yes, it would be a great pleasure for me to share a wonderful piece of inspiration with you. The following is a quote from Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and it is probably my favourite quote of all time. What I find so inspirational about these quotes is that they can have a number of different meanings depending on your perspective, but as you develop and grow spiritually you are able to look deeper and deeper into the words until the meanings becomes more and more profound.

“make your life a rose and speak silently in the language of fragrance”

For me this has a very deep and profound meaning that I will endeavour to share with you. The rose has a wonderful scent that is quite impossible to describe in words. The scent of a rose simply speaks for itself; in volumes. So when Baba says “make your life a rose and speak silently in the language of fragrance” he is asking us to overcome attachment to the ego-self, pay less attention to words and let our actions speak for us. Nature has a wonderful way of teaching us, and it’s quite incredible how the rose quite effortlessly gives off such an amazing fragrance that is so powerful in its simplistic beauty. The rose does this simply by being itself, and this is also what Baba is saying; if we were to just be ourselves instead of worrying about what others think and how we look in the eyes of others we would simply shine in the way we were meant to. Our “way of being” would speak for us and we would be an example for all those around us.

Another quote that I find really inspirational is “climb the mountains to receive their blessings” from Marcus Aurelius. This again is quite profound in its simplicity. This is another way of saying “no pain – no gain”, or to be a bit more subtle; Marcus is telling us that the rewards derived from hard work are worth the slog. Symbolically, “climb the mountains” means anything that we undertake that is hard to accomplish and “receive their blessings” equates to the reward, which is the sense of achievement we get from having completed the task.

Many quotes are self-explanatory and simple to understand, which is the way I like to write. Indeed, one of the most common things that people say to me when they have read my books is that the topics I write about are always explained in a very clear and easy-to-understand way. So I’m going to end this little article with some words from Albert Einstein that I came across the other day for the first time. I think this is a classic example of a quote that is logic in its most pure and simple form. So, I’ll just say thanks again Linn for having me as a guest on your blog, and it’s over to Albert…..
