TAJ-Final Version-EBIn 2000 my life hit rock bottom. Emotionally I was totally spent and did not see any way out of the mire that I found myself in. This book tells the story of how (with a little help) I managed to turn my life around. Miraculously at the onset of the new millennium I started to embark on a series of truly amazing out-of-body adventures, and as the years have gone by, I have learned to pass through solid objects, propel myself in whatever direction I wish to travel, and unbelievably, “will” myself back into my body when I become bored with the journey. As if that wasn’t incredible enough, I have also been blessed by the Avatar of the age himself, Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who first entered my life in 2001. Since then I have had a series of truly wonderous experiences with Baba, the highlights of which were being held in his arms during an out-of-body experience in 2006 and seeing him in physical form at his ashram, Prasanthi Nilayam (abode of the highest peace) in Puttaparthi, Southern India in October 2009.

I was extremely tired and decided to have a lay down in the afternoon. I drifted off into a dream world and felt a very strong presence around me.  I felt myself being lifted from my body and then I was moving at a great speed.  My third eye became animated and I could see pictures of people and events flashing through my mind, although I couldn’t recount anything specific.  I then realised that I wasn’t being taken anywhere in particular.  Instead my companion appeared to be giving me some kind of spiritual healing.  We were still moving but I could feel the soul’s hands on me and the terrific energy coming from them.  This was once again something new and extremely unique for me to experience.  The energy was nothing like I’d ever experienced before.  I then felt myself returning to my body and when I opened my eyes it was 2:05 p.m.

At some stage, I really can’t remember when, I’d started having strange experiences during the night.  I either dismissed these experiences as dreams or tried to convince myself that they simply hadn’t happened.  One of the earliest that remains really vivid to this day was when I found myself travelling through the air at a terrific speed.  It was quite dark and I found myself heading towards trees.  It was a very hairy experience.  I braced myself waiting for the impact, convinced I was going to get impaled on the branches.  I was amazed when I realised I was simply flying through them as though they were not there.

It’s What Being An Author Is All About

pics 015I’ve been back from my working trip to West Wales for just over a week now and thought it was about time I checked in. Ah.. the trip; well, it started off quite spectacularly; during the early hours of my first night there I had two (yes, two) out-of-body experiences AND a visitation from Swami, Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It was quite unexpected to embark on astral adventures, especially during the first night, but they were not the kind of adventures that I felt necessary to write about. The second one in particular was a little strange to say the least, but neither held any significance for me, hence I decided to confine them to the annals of time. However, it was lovely of Swami to pop by.

I’ve got an article brewing in my mind for publication in the near future, but what I want to particularly share today is, for me anyway, what really makes being an author worthwhile.

Being an author can be a frustrating old life, but somehow, we simply keep going; even if we do take the odd sabbatical here and there. The other day however I got a real boost. A lady thousands of miles away in America contacted me and told me my books have put her son back on the right pathway. She said that he was going in the wrong direction until he read my work. She went on to say that I am an inspiration to them both. Then, later the same day I received an email from a man much closer to home, although I have never met him, who told me he had acquired some of my books via his mother and that they had helped him greatly. He asked permission for a poem that is in one of my older pieces of work to be copied and read at a friend’s funeral. I was more than happy to allow this (I’m sure most people wouldn’t have bothered to ask!)

It just goes to show, that sometimes we question ourselves and wonder if we are doing the right thing; and all of a sudden we get confirmation that we are! It is a really great feeling to know that I can make a positive difference, through my work, in other people’s lives; and little things, like those two messages, really are what being an author is all about.

By the way. The photo is of the harbour at Aberaeron; I took this pic on a previous trip a couple of years back.

Be My Baby!

616828_3084981623035_2102591458_oOn the morning of 12 May 2014 I awoke having found myself out-of-body whilst having a “not so nice” dream. I tend not to have nightmares these days, but sometimes I do have dreams where “weird stuff” is going on. The curious thing here was that I was definitely out of my body, but I was still dreaming. A part of my consciousness was not very happy with being in astral form whilst still having a weird dream and I immediately returned to my body. I then found myself in a situation where I was wide awake and disappointed that I’d let the experience pass me by. Bearing in mind what happened during my last escapade (see previous article The Journey Continues – Part Two) I decided to send out my thoughts and asked to be taken off somewhere “nice”.

Almost immediately I felt myself being lifted from my body and I felt myself moving through the ether at speed whilst being carried by an unknown companion. I reached around and held the soul’s hand; half expecting it to be my dear friend from the last journey, however, it was not to be. The hand felt very small, like that of a youngster. As usual we had some telepathic communication, but I cannot remember what pleasantries were exchanged! What happened next was very brief, but like most of my astral adventures these days, turned out to be another uniquely different experience.

We arrived in a very small room, where to my amazement, I found a BABY; would you believe? I would actually describe it as a toddler, and it was engaging in what most toddlers are very good at; namely, having a good old toddle. I don’t remember seeing any doors or windows; but they are not necessary on the astral planes as you just pass through whatever is in front of you. The toddler seemed quite happy and content as it toddled around and I felt quite excited having been taken to meet an astral baby. However, my expectations soon turned flat when I found myself almost immediately back in my body.

As ever, I’m just glad of the experience, and the timing couldn’t have been better, because that little jaunt has given me a reason for a final blog post before I set off on my working trip to Wales. I leave on 16 May and come back on 26 May. Hopefully my little trip will give me something to write about!

See you soon!

The Journey Continues

859554_3785224328665_1595273250_oHaving not had any significant out-of-body experiences of note since August 2013, I was beginning to wonder when the next one would come along. Then just like London buses, having waited for what seemed like an age for one, two came along in quick succession. Both were quite incredible in their own unique way because they followed the trend of all my significant astral adventures of the past few years, in that they seemed to go that extra bit further in teaching me something new.

At the time of writing it is almost two weeks since the first one. I remember waking up in the night, and as I lay in bed, my third eye became active. I could see what appeared to be a very posh rest room (Yes, that’s what it looked like on the surface, but I don’t think it was) tiled throughout with very pale green tiles. I was laying there looking at this scene playing out within my brow chakra, when I got that familiar feeling I get before an out-of-body experience. I left my body but appeared to return straight away. Then I was off again.

I could feel myself being carried as usual, and as I was enjoying the journey something happened that I had not experienced before. As if I was responding to subconscious commands, I reached around and held my companion’s hand and also turned around to see that I was being carried by a lovely female soul. I have done similar things before but only from conscious thought; this was completely new to me. Her hand felt very soft and smooth.

I remember conversing with her via our thoughts but I cannot remember what was being said. As the journey continued I was aware that we had arrived at a destination and there was the sensation of appearing to be travelling along on what I can only describe as a conveyor belt. As we moved along there was small blue hand towels hanging at intervals on rails on the right hand side, along with small wooden cabinets with drawers; there was no symmetry whatsoever and the whole space seemed cramped but surprisingly comfy. Then we left the conveyor belt and arrived in a corridor.

We were walking one way in among a line of other souls, and there was also a line of souls walking past us in the opposite direction. Again, it all seemed very cramped but comfortable; there was hardly any room at all separating the two lines of souls, but the whole process was very smooth and hassle-free. It seemed like we had arrived in a kind of factory and there was a man in a white coat who seemed to be a supervisor; I ascertained that his name was Merv. My intuition told me that the line I was in was going for a break, and the line walking in the opposite direction were returning from a break. I then asked, what in hindsight, was quite a stupid question. The lady was still walking with me and I asked her if it was true that time doesn’t really exist. I know that time most certainly does not really exist, but my curiosity prompted me to wonder if there was some kind of astral system of time measurement, in the same way that we have seconds, minutes, hours and days etc here on Earth. The lady replied, “it’s ten to one”, which I thought to be a very strange reply. I’m sure there is a deeper meaning in this for me to work out, but the penny hasn’t dropped yet.

We then started to descend down some rather steep stone steps; the stone was very slate-like. We reached the bottom, and just as I was really starting to enjoy myself and really get into the adventure I was back in my body.

Watch this space for the next installment.

Out Of This World

210701_3084350927268_403613210_oIn recent months this blog has attracted a number of new followers, so I thought I would wind the clock back a bit for the benefit of my new friends and recap on why I blog and the things I blog about. Essentially, I write about spirituality, spiritual subjects, and in the main, my own actual life experiences. I also like to write articles that contain messages of inspiration and upliftment. In recent months I have introduced the “Ricky’s Raw Recipes” series, (mainly because my spiritual experiences dried up and I needed to write about something!) but even though those articles are just a tad tongue-in-cheek, they are nonetheless valid, informative; and the juices themselves are very nutritional and detoxifying. However, the subject I’m going to concentrate on for the purpose of this article is out-of-body experiences and astral travel.

Back in the late 1990s I started to have strange experiences in the middle of the night; quite often these experiences would involve the sensation of being pinned down and unable to move (this is also a common symptom of psychic attack). At the time I was in a very dark place; I’d suffered with depression for years and also had a penchant for alcohol, which took me down into the pits. At some stage I went to seek advice from a lady medium, in Swindon, where I was living at the time. She explained that I was experiencing the first stages of astral travelling and that I should allow myself to go with the flow instead of resisting; she also said that I would enjoy it.

Inevitably, soon after the meeting with the medium I experienced that old familiar sensation in the middle of the night. This time I allowed myself to be taken on what turned out to be the first of many amazing journeys. Since those early days I have now had so many astral adventures that it would be impossible to say how many. This is something that I didn’t go looking for; it’s something that came looking for me and I’m so grateful. The pattern always used to be the same. I would wake in the middle of the night and be unable to get back to sleep. After what seemed like an age of tossing and turning I would enter a kind of limbo state; neither awake nor asleep, and it was at this point that I would get taken from my body and embark on an amazing experience. Yes, you did read that correctly; I get taken from my body, and in astral form, I am taken on the most incredible journeys. I know they are not dreams because they are all tangible experiences (although sometimes they are preceded by dreams) and on one occasion I even came back with an astral bruise.

I never know who the souls that carry me off are; I just trust them. In the early days there were a few hiccups and on a few occasions I became quite stroppy and demanded to be back in my body. These days however, the journey is always extremely smooth and the astral experiences themselves seem to be constantly evolving and becoming even more incredible.

In the early days I very quickly learned that I could will myself to move in any direction I wanted once I had reached my astral destination. I also very quickly learned to pass through solid objects. Incredibly, the experience sometimes becomes a bit tedious, and when this happens, I’m able to will myself back into my body. There was only one occasion during the last 14 years or so when I found it difficult to get back.

I’m sure you will all be very happy to hear that once we are free of the physical body we are also free of stress, strain, worry and any other negative feeling you may be able to think of. It is a sensation of complete and utter freedom and it proves to me beyond a shadow of a doubt that life within the Earth dimension really is nothing more than an elaborate illusion. Please feel free to ask me any questions you want!

I wish you all love, light and peace.

Operation Caravan

TruthtLittle did I know when I embarked on my working trip to West Wales recently that I would have one of the most incredible out-of-body experiences I’ve ever had. Keeping in line with my recent astral adventures this one was very short, but extremely significant.

I had been staying with my great friends, The Dunn Family, in the village of Oakford, Llanarth. The Dunns have a Bed and Breakfast establishment and a holiday cottage. I know them from my time living in the area, when Kath, the lady of the house, saw one of my ads and called me to arrange a private reading for her daughter. We have maintained contact since I moved back to England, and they very kindly let me stay with them when I’m working in the area, treating me like one of the family in the process. I stayed in one of the rooms in the house, but on the Friday they had a full quota of guests arriving for a local wedding, so other arrangements had to be made. I was moving on to a new location on the Saturday so I only needed to stay for one more night. Andrew, the son, has a caravan on the grounds and he very kindly let me sleep in it.

During the early hours of Saturday morning I found myself dreaming, but I have no idea what the dream was about. At some stage I felt a hand on me; it was either on my stomach or holding my right hand, which was resting on my stomach. I cannot remember exactly but I just know it was one or the other. At this stage I was still half asleep but I decided to grab the hand and hold onto it; It was as solid as you dear reader! I sent out thoughts of gratitude to the soul who was with me. As I was thanking this soul for its presence, I suddenly realised that there was in fact several souls around me, although I could not see them. Then the most incredible thing happened.

Just as I realised I was out of my body, one of the other souls performed a spiritual operation on me. A surgical instrument was inserted into the left-hand side of my lower abdomen; I felt no pain, just momentary discomfort. Immediately the instrument was removed I felt myself return to my body. As I did so my third eye was illuminated and I was able to see several celestial beings in female form leaving the scene. It was as if they deliberately flew over me and away so that I could see them, as opposed to simply flying away.

The whole incident lasted for no more than a few seconds. These experiences are commonplace for me now, but I’ve never been operated on before whilst out-of-body.

Anyone else had anything similar???

Cool Runnings

Well, what can I say? It REALLY is just like waiting for a bus (see link below). It’s now THREE out-of-body experiences in barely four weeks after not having one for ages.

https://richardfholmes.org/2013/05/26/its-just-like-waiting-for-a-bus/

544965_242122179232987_1867947155_nMy latest astral adventure, like the other two, may not have been that spectacular, but it was equally as significant. It was very short in fact, but it had a lot of meaning for me. I was laying in bed this morning at around 08:10 trying to squeeze the remaining dregs out of a bit of a lie-in, fully awake but with my eyes closed, when all of a sudden my third eye became illuminated. When I say illuminated, I do not mean in the same way as during meditation where it is quite common to see images etc, and I shall explain for the benefit of those reading this who have not read my book The Amazing Journey.

Since about 1999 I have not only been having the most incredible astral adventures, but I have also been experiencing what I can only describe as an awaking, or illumination, within my third eye. This illumination sometimes occurs as an isolated incident or it may be the forerunner or aftermath to an out-of-body experience. What happens is that my third eye lights up and I see uncannily vivid activity being played out “before my very eye”, if you’ll pardon the pun, rather like a film show. Sometimes these images are very powerful and highly symbolic and sometimes I simply see people whom I do not know. My third eye has also been known to simply light up with the most brilliant and beautiful white light.

So there I was, laying in bed minding my own business, when all of a sudden my third eye became active. I could see quite plainly four young girls, dressed in bright clothes, just standing there doing nothing in particular. Knowing that the time was getting on I was thinking how unusual it was for me to be having a third-eye-experience at this time in the morning. As my mind was daring to think that I might just also be about to be blessed with an astral journey, I felt the familiar feeling of being lifted from my body.

I did not see my companion but the journey was the most smooth and professional yet. That’s not bad considering I have been having these experiences for the last 14 years. As usual we moved at speed through darkness, but I felt fully surrendered to the situation, which is something that does not always happen. After what seemed quite a short time I could see that we were inside a building. Now forgive me for what I’m going to say next, but I don’t know how else to describe it. We appeared to be in an inside-out castle. Yes, you really did read that correctly. But it was a castle that was no longer being used as a castle. The interior reminded me of those grand old buildings that you quite often see in English towns that were obviously fortresses in their day, but in modern times are owned by the local authority and being used as council offices. In the part where we arrived at the corridor was on a bit of a slope and there was a lovely 1960’s style banister rail fixed on one side.

I described the building as an inside-out castle because the walls were black, and they reminded me of the kind of black backdrop you would find on stage in a theatre to depict night-time. The grey outlines of castle battlements and windows were superimposed on the walls; it was indeed a pleasantly strange sight. I had a feeling that this was going to be a short one, and I was right; we did not even land before I found myself drifting back into my body.

It was a very pleasing and significant experience because of the smoothness of the journey; and I hope an indication that life could be about to get very interesting over the coming months.
