Ricky’s Raw Recipes #10

This recipe is a take on others I’ve posted before but with an ingredient that I haven’t used up until now. It’s another simple recipe. As ever, start by adding water to your blender. Then in no particular order, chop your apple and ginger and add celery, spinach and cucumber. This time we are also going to add some curly kale. Use whatever amounts take your fancy and give it all a good whizzing. Then stick a little umbrella in the top and a straw (preferably one of the bendy ones, it will make it taste better) and imagine you are laying on a beach somewhere in paradise.

If you are now wondering where you are, you have just entered Juice Utopia; oh yes!!! 001

Maybe There’s Something Bubbling Under…

Westbury Spiritual Centre 19 November 2013

Westbury Spiritual Centre 19 November 2013

Last night I was working in another town, Westbury to be precise, and I didn’t get home until late. As a result I went to bed late and planned to stay in bed a bit longer this morning. So, I was just a little disappointed when I awoke and realised it was still quite early. I was even more disappointed when I didn’t drop straight back off to sleep again. At some stage the inevitable happened and I entered the limbo state that I know so well now, where I am neither asleep nor awake; and at this point my third eye lit up.

I continued to lay there in anticipation as images of a young girl flashed through my third eye; it was a bit like those early films that worked on the same principle as flicking through the pages of a book at great speed so that the images appeared to be moving. I didn’t know who the girl was but I was enjoying the experience of my brow chakra being active and illuminated. I then felt something else that has become part of the norm over the years; I felt a strong but friendly presence envelop me. Now, you will probably think I am being greedy and over-indulgent, but as my recent spate of out-of-body experiences seems to have dried up I was anxious to get the ball rolling again. So, in an effort to kick-start my astral adventures I did something that I’ve not done before; I asked my companion to lift me from my body and take me on a journey. To my great joy, this is exactly what happened.

Westbury Spiritual Centre 19 November 2013

We travelled at speed, with me being held by my unknown friend, and as we did so I pondered what great adventure lay ahead. Or, I thought to myself, would this simply be a case of anti-climax. Sure enough, we reached a destination of sorts, but before I even had a chance to check out the surroundings and give thanks to my friend, I was back in my body (and just a touch disappointed). Those of you who have been following my blog for some time will know that I don’t normally write about every astral experience I have, because I have had so many over the years and some of them literally only last for a few seconds. But the reason I chose to share this one is because in the past when I’ve had some real humdingers, they have occasionally been preceded by very brief and uneventful experiences like this one. It might just be wishful thinking on my part, but maybe there’s something bubbling under…

002This is another very refreshing juice with the emphasis on simplicity. As ever, you put a glass of water into your blender, then you add an apple, a good chunk of fresh root ginger, a chunk of fennel and as much spinach as you can cram in. Blitz till you can’t blitz no more and simply enjoy this wonderful tasting juice.

Future Plans

TruthtHello everyone. I just thought I would share with you my plans for the short-term future with regard to my blog, writing and CD production.

I’m toying with the idea of reviving the video blog. It’s been over two years since I posted a video here; mainly because I felt at times that I was struggling to practice the stuff I was speaking about. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since my last one so I’m keen to start this again. However, today is out of the question, as my allergy that I’ve had since I was a kid, has been agitated by the damp autumnal weather and I currently look like I’ve been in the ring with Mike Tyson due to a heavily swollen eye. Hey, if I’m going to be on camera I want to look my best.

My first project for the new year with be the remastering of my CD Healing With The Angels. Up to now this particular CD has only been available directly from me, so the plan is to remaster the original recording, add a suitable musical backing track and reissue. On the book front I’m planning a project that has the provisional title of “An Idiot’s Guide To Spiritual Law”. I say “provisional” because these things have a habit of changing.

With regard to actual articles for the blog, the thought occurred to me today that I could return to some old subject matter. For the simple reason that when I first started writing I did not have a blog and followers. Also, my original books were self-published before the advent of digital publishing and were produced on a “when they are gone they are gone” basis. The person who wrote those original publications is a mere shadow of the person I am today, so it will be interesting to tell some of the same stories but from the perspective of a much wiser head!

As ever I would like to express my thanks to you for following my little blog, and wherever you are, I hope you are well and happy! Enjoy the rest of the week…

Coming Very Soon – Wisdom Bytes

Well, I thought I was all “authored out” and had put my plans for another new book on hold until next year. My latest work was actually written, however, the segments needed to be put into chapters and the general layout and formatting of the text needed doing; not forgetting that I also needed to work on a cover. I thought I’d had enough for a while but just under a week ago I felt the tiniest spark of oomph within me;any writers who may be reading this will know exactly what I mean by feeling that oomph within! The result of that feeling is that I now have the completed files plus a cover submitted for review. I’m expecting to be able to go ahead and publish within the next 24 hours, then next week I can format an eVersion for kindle. My latest offering is called Wisdom Bytes and the cover and synopsis are awaiting your perusal below!

Wisdom Bytes is the second book in the Fragments Of Divinity series, and like all my other books, is for anyone and everyone from age very young to very old who is searching for a deeper spiritual understanding. The book itself is written in the style of a blog; the idea to create it in this way came from the works of Paramahansa Yogananda.

Yogananda was the first Indian yogi to take up residence in the West and he was the founder of The Self Realisation Fellowship in the US. He departed this Earth in 1952, but left an amazing legacy of profound spiritual insights totalling over 1,700 pages. In order to keep their guru’s work alive the fellowship released it in a series of smaller volumes. Having purchased a number of these truncated works myself I noted how helpful it was to have potentially very complicated texts condensed down into small volumes. One such book is only 28 pages long and can fit neatly into a breast pocket.

So, having read a number of these smaller volumes I came up with the idea for the Fragments Of Divinity series. In keeping with my previous work I have written it in a very reader friendly and easy-to-understand way; some of the first spiritual books I read when I was first discovering my own spiritual pathway were written in such a way that when I got to the end I still didn’t have a clue. As I tend to write about my own actual experiences my books are self-researching, which is a bonus, because it tends to reduce the writing time as well

Anyone who is searching for a deeper meaning to life or who is looking for answers to those seemingly unanswerable questions that tend to nag away at us will find Wisdom Bytes a very interesting and thought-provoking read.

Ricky’s Raw Recipes #7

001This is another recipe that will really tantalize your taste buds, so have your blender ready! Add water to your jug followed by fine green beans, celery, an 85g bag of rocket leaves, good chunk of fresh root ginger, an apple AND a whole raw beetroot. Blitz as you go along and give the whole lot a good old blitz at the end, adding more water if required. Now, be a real caveman; raise the jug to your lips and savour the feeling as your raw juice just rolls down your throat. Luverly!!!!

Watch this space. There will be another post a little later with an announcement!

Ricky’s Raw Recipes #6

001Like my previous raw food recipe this one is really refreshing and most palatable and it works on the principle that less is more (only four ingredients this time). Today’s recipe, like all my others really, was driven by what I had in my fridge at the time and what was about to turn. The result was this delicious juice, which I know you will enjoy. As with the last recipe I will give you the exact proportions I used.

As usual I put a good measure of water into the blender followed by a medium-sized carrot and a good chunk of fresh root ginger and blitzed. I had one apple left that was just getting to the point where it was starting to look a bit sorry for itself, so that was the next thing to go in. Then I had about 150g of spinach left in a 200g bag that was one day past its “use-by” date, so the whole lot went in. I gave it a good old blitz, adding a bit more water, and glugged it down for my breakfast.

I’m so full of energy now that I’m actually stuck to the ceiling and typing by proxy. Happy blitzing my friends!
