Only in the silence will you hear the voice of Love
When the world seems to be attacking you, all sides
Take a moment…
Retreat into the cavity of your heart
Be embraced by the peace…
That passes all understanding
Let go of the pieces, and
Let the peace do its work
You are only an actor
Playing a part
You don’t have to be a hero
Every day doesn’t have to be a slog
The power of love will nurture you
Without you even realising
Your hardships are your friends
For they cause you, unwittingly
To go on an inner journey
Once you set sail
The Ocean of Love will guide you
So, let go of the pieces
Welcome the peace, and
Be guided by Love

What Would I Do Without You?
What would I do without you?
If you were not my everything, and I yours
Where would I seek solace?
Who would lick my wounds?
Would it be better I seek to grasp the air
than seek happiness?
Would I be destined to wander the barren wilderness
that knows not Love?
What would I do without you?
Oh pervader of all
Our Oneness is such
That I never have to ponder such questions
For with the same inevitability
That rain, falling from the heavens
must surely kiss the earth
So must I, one day
Return to the chamber of your loving heart
And there, rest my weary soul in the silence
Silence
At the end of my last post, Who Am I? Part Fourteen, I said you would have part fifteen before you know it… Obviously, that hasn’t happened and I apologise for that. Unfortunately, since my last post my chronic fatigue has been playing up more than normal and I simply haven’t had the energy or the focus to be able to write. I really don’t like going too long without posting, so I thought I would share this beautifully inspiring piece of wisdom from Ramana Maharshi with you. Please bear with me, and I will write part fifteen as soon as I’m able. It’s only about another 16 days before I go off to Nepal for three weeks, so I’m hoping to give you parts sixteen and seventeen as well. In the meantime, here’s The Maharshi…
Silence is ever speaking. It is a perennial flow of language, which is interrupted by speaking. These words I am speaking obstruct that mute language. For example, there is electricity flowing in a wire. With resistance to its passage, it glows as a lamp or revolves as a fan. In the wire it remains as electric energy. Similarly also, silence is the eternal flow of language, obstructed by words.
Thought For The Day #185
Quote
Contain your experience with the divine so that it does not escape you but rather shapes you. Be silent. Silence will help you avoid engaging in the games of competition and illusion that regularly seduce us in the outside world. Silence also helps you avoid distraction. It helps focus the busy mind – the mind that always has to be doing something, thinking something, the mind that always has to be otherwise engaged lest it become introspective and allow the soul’s voice to override its own. The silence I am describing is a silence that you use to contain the grace you receive when you enter the Castle of your soul. This quality of silence allows you to engage in discernment. You carry this silence within you, even when you are with others. It allows you to hold your center amid the chaos of your life; it keeps you clear so that you do not do or say things you will regret or make decisions out of fear – Caroline Myss
